Welcome to the Magical Place we call Walt Disney World

Playhouse Disney - Live on Stage!

We walked into Playhouse Disney, not because we had small children with us, but because we were determined to visit each and every one of the shows and attractions at each of the theme parks. The youngest child with us was 7 at the time, and since we don’t have the Disney Channel, we didn’t really know who any of the characters in Playhouse Disney were. With that background, or lack of background, Playhouse Disney was one of my least favorite attractions in Disney MGM Studios.

The show was well done. Everyone sits on a big carpeted area so the kids can get up and dance with the characters. Obviously, most kids were familiar with Playhouse Disney, because most of them sang and danced their hearts out. Actually, I had more fun watching the cute little kids dance than I did watching the show!

Although the show was cute, it helps to have a Playhouse Disney background so you know who everybody is. Also, this show has been designed with preschoolers in mind. Grade school children will tolerate it, but they probably won’t enjoy it all that much. Be prepared for eye rolling from your teenagers. And for the parents…if you get bored, look around at all the little people entranced by Bear, Rolie Polie Olie, and Stanley. Their smiles make the show worth seeing.
