Who Wants to Be a Millionaire - Play It!

There aren’t many people who don’t remember the “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” craze that swept the nation a few years ago. At our house, we collected the computer game, and both the children’s version and the adult version of the board game. Who Wants to Be a Millionaire - Play It! takes the concept of the game show and tweaks it just a little bit to make it easier for Disney guests to play.

Disney Imagineers have gone all out to recreate the look and feel of the original game show. The set looks like the game show, including the hot seat and a game show host that actually asks, “Is that your final answer?” In the theme park version, each member of the audience has a keypad in front of their seat. The audience member who answers the first question the fastest gets to come up and sit in the hot seat. The questions aren’t all Disney trivia…they cover other types of trivia, too. The contestant (could be you!) wins prizes according to how many questions they answer correctly. The prizes range from pins, to sweatshirts, to the grand prize, which is an all expense paid, 3-day Disney cruise. There’s a change in the lifelines…instead of “phone a friend” they have “phone a complete stranger”. The phone rings outside the studio and a cast member asks the next person walking by if they know the answer to the question. It’s not really a lifeline at all, really, but it’s pretty funny.

If the person in the hot seat misses a question before the half hour game is over, the person in the audience who has answered the most questions correctly get the next turn in the hot seat. So brush up on your trivia, people…you never know when you’ll need it!
